Overview This one week program will foster a child’s love of stories through reading, games, crafts,
theatre and song. Global folk tales and Greek myths will be the basis of all activities, inspiring children
with classic tales beloved by generations of children everywhere. Designed for early elementary students,
this week will be a fun, high energy exploration of culture and stories for all children.
Each day of the program will be centered around a classic tale. Some stories will be well known, while
others will be more obscure. The intention is to expose children to a diverse selection of stories over the
course of the week. Activities and crafts will vary day to day and relate to the story. Children will have
many opportunities for creative exploration and the creation of their own stories throughout the program.
They will engage with many of the stories directly through acting and singing.
