Admission Process

Visit

The best way to get a feel for our school is to come for a visit. School events are a great way to see the campus so we encourage you to attend. If you are interested in a visit and there are no upcoming events, please reach out to us in the office by email at outreach@waldorfcapecod.org or phone at 508-420-1005.

In addition to physical campus visits we offer virtual visits through Zoom. These are half hour time slots usually during the school week. Contact the office for more information.

Application and Fee

Applications are accepted year-round based on availability. Fill out and submit a completed online application with a non-refundable $75 fee.

Interview

After your admissions application is received, the class teacher will reach out to you to schedule an interview. Interviews are conducted on zoom or in-person.

School Records for Grade School Admission

Grades, teacher reports, assessments and/or observations from the past two years must be sent to us. School visits will not be scheduled until a complete record is received. Most schools require a written request from parent or legal guardian to release student records.

The records may be emailed to rking@waldorfcapecod.org or mailed to: Waldorf School of Cape Cod, 22 Tupper Rd., Sandwich, MA , attn: Roxanne King. Record request forms are available.

Teacher Recommendation

If your child is transferring from another school, the information provided will aid our admissions team in determining whether the Waldorf curriculum and philosophy will be educationally beneficial for your child. Recommendations are requested through our online system and emailed directly to your child’s previous teacher.

Class Visit

During the school year, grade school applicants will visit the class for 3 full days prior to acceptance. Once the application and school records are received and reviewed.

Nursery and Kindergarten applicants may request a one day visit.

Acceptance

The admission committee makes admission and placement decisions. The decisions are based on the class visit (for grades students), the application and supporting documents, the interview, the particular makeup and needs of the class for which the child is applying, and available space. When appropriate, a child may be conditionally accepted for a six-week trial period.

Upon acceptance to the school, you will receive an email along with a link to our online enrollment packet. The packet must be submitted online along with a $400 enrollment fee per student. In addition you will receive a DocuSign email with our enrollment contract which must must be signed prior to the student’s first day of school.
