Admission Process

Visit

Attend a Grades Tour & Talk if interested in our Elementary and Middle School or Tea & Play if interested in Nursery or Kindergarten. Open Houses are in the fall and spring - families are invited to visit and tour the school.  Please view our Calendar Page or contact our Director of Admissions at (508) 420-1005 for dates and times, or to arrange a personal tour.

Application and Fee

Applications are accepted year-round based on availability. Fill out and submit a completed application with a non-refundable $75 fee. Checks may be written to WSCC.

School Records for Grade School Admission

Grades, teacher reports, assessments and/or observations from the past two years must be sent to us. School visits will not be scheduled until a complete record is received. Most schools require a written request from parent or legal guardian to release student records.

The records may be mailed to:  Waldorf School of Cape Cod, 140 Old Oyster Rd, Cotuit MA 02635, attn: Roxanne King, Director of Admissions & Outreach or faxed to us at (508) 420-0473. Record request forms are available.

Teacher Recommendation

If your child is transferring from another school, the information provided will aid our admissions team in determining whether the Waldorf curriculum and philosophy will be educationally beneficial for your child. Recommendation forms are available.

Interview

The Director of Admission will set up a parent interview with the class teacher.

Class Visit

During the school year, grade school applicants will visit the class for 3 full days prior to acceptance. Once the application and school records are received and reviewed, the Director of Admissions will schedule the visit.

Nursery and Kindergarten applicants may request a one day visit accompanied by a parent.

Acceptance

The admission committee makes admission and placement decisions. The decisions are based on the class visit (for grades students), the application and supporting documents, the interview, the particular makeup and needs of the class for which the child is applying, and available space. When appropriate, a child may be conditionally accepted for a six-week trial period.

Enrollment Contract

Upon acceptance to the school, an enrollment contract must be signed and returned accompanied by a non-refundable enrollment deposit covering the yearly materials fee to secure your child’s place in the class.
